Can I upload items from an Excel spreadsheet?

You can prepare an excel spreadsheet in the format that we require and upload via wwsitemsupload.wws.  The layout can be found on that page.  Simply add this page to your site address and you will see further instructions.  You can download a sample upload file here:  http://secure128.sophiosoft.com/data/wwsitemsupload.csv . Take note that the file must be a CSV file.  CSV files can be created and edited in Excel.  Simply click 'save - as' in Excel instead of save and change the type of file to CSV.

There are several reasons for uploading a CSV file to your websites inventory file.  These include:

  • Updating many selling prices at once (special)
  • Updating the qty available field at once (stock)
  • Changing the description on many items
  • Adding weight to items
  • Adding items not in your licensed catalog
One of the features in Sophio is the ability to have the software generate pages with products on them with buy buttons.  For these methods to work the items must be in your inventory file.  If you do not want to upload data via CSV file you can simply add these items manually using the link maintedititemsmb.wws
