B2C Username Administration

B2C Username Administration

Each B2C store has a login for its control panel (/admin.epc).  This login must be setup on the server where the b2c site is hosted.  If you need to setup or reset credentials for a b2c site's control panel follow these steps.

1. Locate the server where the b2c site is hosted (you can ping the b2c store address).

2. Login to that server using Remote Desktop.

3. Open up the 'Computer Management' panel. This is located under 'Start Menu > Adminstrative Tools > Computer Management'

4. In 'Computer Management' go to 'Users'.

5. Find the username you wish to work with.  If this is a current login, then the control panel username is listed in the b2c store's welcome page (welcome.wws).  If you need to reset the password, right click the username and select 'Set Password'.  You want to select a secure password that has a misture of upper/lower case letters and numbers.

6.If the username did not exist you can add a new user by right clicking 'Users' and then entering the username/password.  If you are adding the username, be sure to add it as a member of the Sophio Group.  To do this, right click the username after you have added it and select 'Properties'.  Navigate to the 'Member Of' tab.  If you do not see 'Sophio' listed, select 'Add...'.  A window will appear, and in the field labeled 'Enter object names to select' simply enter in 'sophio' and click 'OK'.

7. Whether you add the username or you are just resetting the password, be sure that the option for 'Password Never Expries' is turned on. You can check this by right clicking on the username and selecting Properties.  This will be listed on the General tab in Properties.

8. The last thing to check is making sure that the correct username and password is listed in the welcome page of the b2c store.  If it is not listed correctly, we'll have to edit the information in the Store Settings.  Navigate to the Store Settings, and search for tags in the 'advset' called <ADMINUSER> and <ADMINPASS> respectively, and modify the info to the working credentials which we set on the server.

9. Be sure to test these before giving them to the client.
