How does shipping get calculated at my Wrenchead Integrated Webstore

A Sophio hosted webstore that uses the Wrenchead Catalog calculates shipping similarly to other Sophio implementations. Sophio is directly integrated with UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL and other carriers. Upon configuration of your webstore, you will tell us how you wish your products to be shipped. You may choose to ship APO/FPO, INTL or simply Domestic orders only. You can also tell the system if you want to use an EXACT quote that matches what would be found at the shipper's sites, or you may mark this price up or down at your discretion by shipping method. For example, you may want to give Ground Freight for free on orders over $75, while you may want to mark up UPS Blue Label by 20% and discount UPS Red label by 10%. Any number of combinations is possible.

The actual calculation goes something like this.

1) Consumer adds an item to the shopping cart
2) The weight is stored by part type for each product
3) As items are added to the cart the TOTAL weight of the shopping cart is stored
4) When the consumer clicks checkout or the button for 'estimated freight', the system
asks the consumer for their zip code
5) The webstore's zip code which is stored in the configuration is used as the 'ship from' zip code
6) An electronic freight quote request is sent to one or many shippers (depending on those you support) and the actual
RETAIL freight charge times any markup or discount you have stored in your store's configuration is then displayed

Note: If your order is being fulfilled by a third party, their zip code or codes is used as the 'ship from' zip based on the location of the consumer
