Paypal's IPN - Instant Payment Notificaiton feature can keep your store up to date with any transaction that occurs on Paypal. To get started, follow these steps.
1. Login to Paypal
2. Click this link or copy and paste it into a browser that is already logged in to Paypal - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/customerprofileweb?cmd=%5fprofile%2dipn%2dnotify (be sure to copy entire link)
3. On the IPN page enter your special Paypal IPN url. You can find the url on your Payment tab in your store settings.
4. Follow the prompts and be sure to 'enable' the feature so that you see "Receive IPN Messages".
5. The Paypal page should look something like this.
According to the Paypal development documentation if you do not setup Paypal IPN manually it can still be used. When Sophio sends a buyer to Paypal we are sending them dynamically the Paypal IPN url. It 'should' work but in our experience it is not 100%. Therefore, we recommend you manually configure your Paypal IPN settings.
