Getting Started

The faceted catalog is built from one or more inventory feeds on a site by site basis.  It is possible for a seller to use an existing faceted catalog from another seller.  When a seller uses another sellers faceted catalog, the seller using the shared catalog can have their own database of inventory and pricing for the parts they stock themselves or have access too.  This means, that the shared catalog can be thought of as a 'special order' catalog shared by the seller.  The most popular configuration is to use the B2C Central Affiliates database and the B2C Central faceted catalog.  The tags you need to enable these are as follows:

<FACETEDCATALOGDEPARTMENTS>1</FACETEDCATALOGDEPARTMENTS>

<AFMKTPARTSDB>b2ccentralaffiliates</AFMKTPARTSDB>

<AFMKTSPHINXINDEX>b2ccentral_catalog</AFMKTSPHINXINDEX>

<AFMKTFACETEDPRICING>local</AFMKTFACETEDPRICING>

The tags above will configure your store to use only the B2C Central catalog and pricing and inventory database.  If you want to create your own database of inventory and pricing, use this link:  createfacetedinventorydatabase.wws and choose the default option catalog-1 faceted b2bc + b2c.  Once you create the database you can then use the upload offline inventory page uploadofflineinv.wws to upload your pricing and inventory.  If you upload inventory that does not match the catalog, the products will not be discoverable by vehicle lookup but they will be found by part number search.
