Too many declines with Authorize.net.

In case you were unaware, we log every attempted charge to your customers credit cards. A The page anetlog.wws will show you the response from the payment gateway. A  A If you see decline you can bet without a doubt, that the bank that owns the credit card the consumer is using, is rejecting the charge. A A decline normally means that the card does not have any credit left to use. A There are some other reasons cards decline though, and these reasons can be discovered by looking at the codes that Authorize.net returns.

For example, the AVS (address verficiation system) will return the codes below. A Each merchant has the ability to decline cards based on these results. A To change and or check how this is configured visit the Authorize.net control panel. A In their settings page you will find several possible settings you can change. A  The other thing to check is the CVV2 (credit card code) settings. A The list of responses is also below.

A = Address (Street) matches, ZIP does not

B = Address information not provided for AVS check

E = AVS error

G = Non-U.S. Card Issuing Bank
