Changing the Default Mailing List Signup during checkout

To change the default selection for the field "Ok to email special offers" during the checkout process:

1.  Go to your store's Control Panel, and look for the link called 'Edit Store Settings (Expert)’ and click on it.

2.  Click 'Edit' to view the store settings.

3. Scroll down until you see the field called 'advset'.

4. Enter this line into the advset field: <OPTINFALSE>YES</OPTINFALSE> and then Save the changes.

This setting will change the default selection to 'No' during the checkout process.
